Chinese theater dates back to as early as the Shang Dynasty in 1500 BC. Now there are so many subcategories in Chinese theaters such as Beijing Opera, acrobatics, clowning, Shadow puppetry, etc.. Music and acrobatics developed in the Shang Dynasty have played with many of these elements. Theater arts further developed during the Yuan Dynasty. The structure began to grow and gain recognition throughout the whole of China. Yuan style is reflected in the Beijing Opera is still alive until this date.

Chinese theatrical arts, especially involving the four skills. That voice, dance, song and acrobatics. Dance done together with the action and fighting is part of the acrobat. In all the basic emphasis is on the beauty of movement and the actors are supposed to master the four of them because they are an integral part of the Chinese theater. Certain actions are coded and can be interpreted on some happening. Like when an actor walking in a circular motion, it means that he traveled a long distance, in other instances when actors on the stage and stretched the fabric of their head equipment means that the main character will say something important.
